Your disk quota tells you how much disk space you have on the Datastore server.
Students, faculty, staff, and retirees are each allotted 1GB (1000MB) of disk space on Datastore. This limit is known as your Datastore quota.

If you use over 1000MB of disk space on Datastore, you will receive multiple email notifications warning you that you have exceeded your disk quota on Datastore.

To resolve this problem, you must reduce your disk usage on Datastore. This can be accomplished by moving files from Datastore to another storage device (like a USB thumb drive, for example) or by deleting files from Datastore.
If you do not reduce your disk usage within the time period indicated in the email notification you received, your personal Datastore share will change to read-only mode.
When your Datastore share is in read-only mode:
Important!
Never try to edit or modify files on Datastore while you are in read-only mode. You will lose data if you try to modify files stored there. Reduce your disk usage first. Then you can modify files.
Your files will never be automatically deleted. Regardless of how long you remain over your quota, your files will never be deleted or moved by a system administrator or the Datastore server.
