This ULID account feature automatically sends an email reply to people who email you while you're on vacation or out of the office.
The vacation email feature automatically responds to people who email you. This is useful when you can't get to your email for an extended period of time, like when you are on vacation. Despite its name, a vacation email can be used any time you are away from your computer or the Internet.
Do not use the vacation email account feature if you have a ULID email forward in place (and want to keep it). Setting up a vacation email will prevent your ilstu.edu email from being forwarded.
To set up a vacation email, do the following:
- Go to http://www.ilstu.edu/ulid/.
- Click on Vacation Email Forwarding Request and log in.
- The Vacation Email Forwarding Page contains options for setting up your vacation email. Set the parameters for your vacation email by selecting an autoreply frequency and timeframe.
- The Subject of your email should indicate that you are unavailable. For example, Reggie Redbird's vacation email Subject says, "Reggie Redbird is Out of the Office".
- The message contents should include whatever information you deem necessary. For example, "Please contact Jon Smith at 8-0000 until I return on Oct. 1. Thank you."
- When you are done, click Make Changes.
