Use the calendar in Outlook 2003 or Outlook 2007 to manage your appointments and other personal events.
An appointment is just like a meeting, except you do not invite attendees. You can add an appointment to your calendar for scheduled work duties, personal events, or personal reminders.
Create New Appointment
To create an appointment in Outlook 2003/2007, do the following:
- Open Outlook 2003 or Outlook 2007.
- Click Calendar on the side of the window, or click Go > Calendar.
- Within the calendar, click the New button, or click File > New > Appointment.
- In the Subject box, type a short description of the event.
- In the Location box, type the location. You may leave this box empty.
- Select start and end times.
- In the large, white box, you may add notes or details, or you may leave this box empty.
- Click Save & Close to add this appointment to your calendar.
Here are a few tips:
- To make it private:
- In Outlook 2003, click the Private check box in the lower-right corner of the appointment window.
- In Outlook 2007, click the Private icon (it's at the top of the window towards the right side).
- Click Invite Attendees to convert your appointment into a meeting.
- Click All day event to flag the entire day. For example, add "First Day of Classes" and make it an All day event.
- Double-click on your calendar to create an appointment for that date and time.
