Installing the uPrint Pharos software for Mac OS X 10.4 and 10.5
To use uPrint Mobile Printing, you must install the uPrint Pharos software.
To install the uPrint Pharos software on Mac OS X 10.4 or 10.5, do the following:
- Download the uPrint Pharos software.
- If the installer does not automatically open, double-click the file to begin. Then double-click the .pkg file.
- Click Continue.
- The Read Me text is displayed. Click Continue.
- The install location is displayed.
- If you have more than one volume, you will be asked to select a destination location. Select the volume in the Select a Destination area and click Continue.
- Click Install.
- You will be prompted to enter your administrator password. Enter the password for your computer (this is your Mac password, not your ULID password) and click OK.
- When the installation is done, click Close.
The uPrint Pharos software adds a new default printer named "ISU_UPrint" to your computer. When you print to this printer, you can pick up and pay for your print jobs at any of the uPrint Stations located throughout campus.
If you have another printer installed, you can set it as the default printer if you prefer. See 1101: Setting the default printer in Mac OS X.
