Canceling your alumni email address

If you no longer want your alumni email address, you can cancel it.

Before You Begin

To cancel your alumni email address, you must use your Alumni ID. Your Alumni ID is a string of 9 capital letters above your name on your alumni magazine label (or the label on most Alumni Association mailings). You used your Alumni ID when you originally set up your alumni email address. See (Figure 1) for an example.

If you are unable to determine your Alumni ID, contact the Alumni Association at 1-800-366-4478 or alumni@illinoisstate.edu.

Cancel Your Alumni Email Address

To cancel your alumni email address, do the following:

  1. Go to https://email.alumni.ilstu.edu/.
  2. Enter your 9-character Alumni ID in the box labeled Alumni ID:. Enter your Alumni ID in all capital letters.
  3. Enter the pictured word in the box labeled Word in box:. If you can't read the pictured word, click the link labeled click here to get another word.
  4. Click the Proceed button.
  5. Click the check box labeled Check this if you want to remove your ISU Alumni e-mail address.
  6. Click the Change button.

Your alumni email address has been canceled.

Canceling your alumni email address makes it available to other alumni of Illinois State University. If you decide to create another alumni email address in the future, your old address may no longer be available, as someone else with the same name or a similar name may have taken it.
