Overview of campus map

Illinois State University maintains an electronic map of campus and the surrounding area.

Illinois State University's campus map website is located at http://maps.ilstu.edu.

The campus map uses the same technology as Google Maps. The satellite and hybrid views of the map are owned and controlled by Google. The campus view is controlled by Illinois State University and has been customized to include a large array of campus buildings, parking lots, sports fields, and other landmarks and places of interest.

Features

The campus map has several key features.

Zoom

Zooming in on the campus map reveals detailed information not visible at first.

You can zoom by using your mouse wheel or by clicking the plus (+) and minus (-) buttons located in the upper-left corner of the map. You can also click the plus (+) and minus (-) buttons on your keyboard.

Accessibility information, such as accessible doors and parking lots, are displayed on the two closest zoom levels.

Move Around

Press and hold your left mouse button and drag your mouse to move the map around. You can also move the map by clicking the four arrow buttons located above the zoom control on the left side of the map.

You can center the map on the last location you selected by clicking the button in the middle of the four arrows on the map.

Reset the Map

At any time, you can reset the position of the map by clicking the Refresh Map button located in the upper-left corner of the map.

Popular Buildings

The panel on the left side of the map holds popular buildings, services, and other points of interest. Click a category to reveal a list of locations. Then put a check mark in one or more boxes to highlight those locations on the campus map.

Location Details

Click on a building or point of interest to get an information bubble. Then click the More Information link in the bubble to jump to a web page dedicated to that building.
