Would you like to do so now?
McAfee VirusScan 8.7i includes an anti-spyware component which can cause conflicts with Windows Defender. Therefore, McAfee recommends that Windows Defender be removed before installing VirusScan.
Despite the language in the message, Windows Defender is actually disabled rather than removed.
In Windows 7, you will be notified through the Action Center that Windows Defender is turned off. The Action Center will instruct you to turn Windows Defender on. If you would like this message to not be displayed, select the option, Turn off messages about spyware and related protection, found within the warning message.
In Windows Vista and Windows XP, you will not be notified that Windows Defender is disabled.
