End of Support for Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, and Windows 2000

Illinois State University will end official support for Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, and Windows 2000 on January 1, 2010.

As of January 1, 2010, Illinois State University will no longer support Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, and Windows 2000.

Once support for the product ends, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, and Windows 2000 will lose their status as officially supported operating systems through the University Computer Help Desk.

If you currently use Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, or Windows 2000, you may continue to do so, but you are encouraged to switch to a newer, supported operating system, such as Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7. Local technical support units may opt to continue providing technical support to faculty and staff who still use Windows 95, Window 98, Windows ME, or Windows 2000.

Questions or concerns about this announcement should be directed to the Help Desk at 309-438-HELP(4357) or helpdesk@ilstu.edu.
